QR Code Generator
Generate a QR code from text or a URL right on your device (no external service calls). Download as PNG.
Generate free QR codes from a link, text, phone number, or Wi-Fi details — customize the background color, code color, and add a logo in the center. Download a high-resolution PNG for printing business cards, menus, posters, or standees. The codes generated are static, work forever, and have no usage limit.
How to use QR Code Generator
- Enter the content to encode (URL, text, phone number, etc.).
- Optionally pick background and code colors to match your brand.
- Upload a logo to place in the center of the code (optional).
- Download the QR code as a PNG to print or add to your designs.
How is a static QR code different from a dynamic one?
A static QR code (the kind this tool creates) encodes your content directly, never expires, and doesn't rely on any intermediary service — but it can't be edited after printing. A dynamic QR code points through a shortened link so you can change the destination and track scans, but it depends on a third-party service and usually costs money.
Tips for a QR code that always scans reliably
Keep high contrast between the code color and the background (a dark code on a light background scans best; avoid inverting to light-on-dark). Don't let the logo cover more than 20-25% of the code's area. When printing, leave a white margin around the code and print it large enough relative to the scanning distance (business cards need at least about 2cm).
Frequently asked questions
Can adding a logo make the QR code unscannable?
No, as long as the logo is centered and not too large. The tool uses a high error-correction level (H) so the code still scans well even with part of it covered by a logo.
Do QR codes expire?
No. The QR codes generated are static and point directly to your content, so they work forever.
Does generating a QR code cost anything?
It's completely free, with no limit on quantity and no watermark added to the image.
What format should I download the QR code in for printing?
Download the PNG at a large size for crisp printing. For designs that need heavy enlargement (banners), use the highest resolution available so it doesn't turn out pixelated.
